At its Annual General Meeting last week the Edmund Barton Centre bid farewell to two of its foundation Board Members, Councillors Adam Roberts and Geoff Hawkins have stood down from the Board to concentrate their time and efforts to their new task as newly elected Councillors of Port Macquarie Hastings Council. The Chairman, Hadyn Oriti thanked both of them for their very valuable contribution to the organisation both as Board Members and Mentors and wished them all the best in their future endevours.

May sees the launch of two new business support programs in the Nambucca – Bellingen local government areas.

• Start Up Business Development Program, sees new business owners mentored by more experienced business people.
• Key Business Development Program provides assistance to existing business managers/owners.

Both programs use mentors that come with a wide diversity of business and industry experiences, not necessarily from the same industry or sector, but experienced in business in general.

BUSINESS SUPPORT PROGRAM HELPS 180 LOCAL BUSINESSES THROUGH TOUGH TIMES OF GETTING STARTED

The StartUp Business Development Program which has assisted over 180 local businesses in getting through the hurdles of the first 12 months of operation is expanding with the introduction of two new programs, the opening of new branches in both Taree and the Nambucca- Bellingen areas, and a new name, the Edmund Barton Centre.
