Northern Rivers

The Northern Rivers Region stretches 20,896 square kilometres from the Queensland border in the north, to the southern end of the Clarence Valley and from the coastal plains in the east to the Great Dividing Range in the west.

The Northern Rivers population was roughly 300,000 in 2010. The region is dissected by three major river systems - the Tweed, Richmond and Clarence and has a predominantly rural outlook.

The Northern Rivers has a strong specialisation in the agriculture, forestry and fishing industry sectors.
